On September 3, the 2026 World Dynamic Battery Conference convened in Yibin, Sichuan Province. Yang Hongxin, Chairman and CEO of SVOLT, emphasized that liquid lithium-ion batteries will continue to hold substantial importance for the foreseeable future. He predicted that widespread commercialization of all-solid-state batteries is unlikely before 2030. In contrast, hybrid solid-liquid batteries, serving as a transitional technology, are poised for significant growth in market penetration.
Currently, the primary challenge impeding the broader adoption of hybrid solid-liquid batteries is cost. The electrolyte thermal composite transfer printing technology has been identified as a promising approach to enable their large-scale production. SVOLT's proprietary electrolyte separator transfer coating technology is designed to integrate seamlessly with existing manufacturing infrastructure, eliminating the need for substantial additional investment. This technology is now primed for large-scale industrial deployment. The company has outlined plans to introduce its hybrid solid-liquid 3.0 batteries to the market by 2028.
