36Kr has learned that the National Energy Administration unveiled pertinent data regarding the nationwide electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure for the first half of 2026. According to statistics from the national charging infrastructure monitoring service platform, as of the end of June 2026, the cumulative number of EV charging stations (guns) in China had soared to 23.057 million, reflecting a notable 43.2% increase compared to the same period last year. Specifically, there were 5.009 million public charging stations (guns), a 22.3% year-on-year rise, boasting a combined rated power of 247 million kilowatts and an average power output of roughly 49.35 kilowatts per gun. Meanwhile, the number of private charging stations (guns) reached 18.048 million, experiencing a substantial 50.4% year-on-year growth, with the reported installed electrical capacity of private charging facilities standing at 155 million kilovolt-amperes.
