On July 28, the National Energy Administration unveiled data concerning the electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure throughout the country for the first half of 2026. Based on statistics from the national monitoring service platform for charging facilities, by the end of June 2026, the cumulative count of EV charging infrastructure units (or "guns") in China had soared to 23.057 million, marking a significant 43.2% increase compared to the same period the previous year. Specifically, there were 5.009 million public charging facility units (guns), experiencing a 22.3% year-on-year growth, boasting a combined rated power of 247 million kilowatts and an average power output of roughly 49.35 kilowatts per gun. Additionally, the number of private charging facility units (guns) reached 18.048 million, reflecting a robust 50.4% year-on-year rise, with an installed electrical capacity totaling 155 million kilovolt-amperes.
