On July 27, during the media roundtable at the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference, Guo Shougang, the Director of the First Department of Equipment Industry at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, disclosed that China has issued more than 20,000 test demonstration licenses for intelligent connected vehicles nationwide. In addition, over 57,000 kilometers of test roads have been opened up, and the cumulative test mileage has surpassed 220 million kilometers. Furthermore, more than 60,000 sets of intelligent equipment have been deployed across 20 pilot cities as part of the 'vehicle-road-cloud integration' initiative, catering to the needs of over 100,000 vehicles. This year, the adoption rate of L2-level combined driving assistance functions in passenger cars has reached 70.5%, while the adoption rate of navigation-assisted driving (NOA) functions in passenger cars has climbed to 34.2%. The first batch of L3-level conditionally automated driving vehicle models has already commenced operations in specific regions.
