On July 27, Guo Shougang, who serves as the Director of the First Department of Equipment Industry at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), shared insights into the present landscape of China's intelligent connected vehicle industry during the Media Roundtable of the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicle Conference. He emphasized that the MIIT is set to expedite the formulation and subsequent release of the '15th Five-Year Plan' specifically tailored for the development of the intelligent connected new energy vehicle sector. Furthermore, the ministry is committed to implementing the 'National Standardization Development Outline,' fostering breakthroughs in pivotal core technologies, accelerating the development of standards and enhancing international collaboration. Additionally, efforts will be directed towards advancing the 'vehicle-road-cloud integration' initiative, along with pioneering pilot projects for production access and road traffic approval, ultimately constructing a comprehensive ecosystem that spans the entire industrial chain.
