On July 21, IM Motors released a statement to clarify recent misinformation spreading across the internet. On July 7, the dealer of IM Motors in Kunming, namely Yunnan Kunming Zhiyueyuexing Automobile Sales and Service Co., Ltd., encountered a disruption in its funding chain due to issues related to private lending. Consequently, some customers were unable to secure vehicle qualification certificates from financial institutions, which are essential for completing vehicle registration. As a result, vehicle deliveries were disrupted. This problem also extended to the dealer's affiliated entity, Zhuhai Zhiyueyuexing Automobile Sales and Service Co., Ltd., thereby affecting vehicle deliveries in the Zhuhai area as well.
Following the incident, IM Motors took immediate action, setting up a dedicated task force. The next day, the company dispatched personnel to the affected locations to collaborate closely with government authorities and relevant stakeholders. Their primary goal was to provide comprehensive follow-up services to the affected customers. By July 17, IM Motors had substantially completed its communication efforts with customers, clarified the situation, and initiated the resumption of issuing qualification certificates and vehicle deliveries starting from July 18. It is anticipated that all orders and vehicle deliveries for regular car-buying customers will be finalized by the end of this week.
