On July 1, news broke that Tesla commenced the rollout of the FSD V14 Lite update for HW3 models on June 30. Initially, this update was aimed at users enrolled in the Early Access Program, with plans to broaden its availability in the weeks ahead. When inquired about whether vehicles fitted with HW3 hardware would be eligible for future upgrades to relevant assisted driving functions, a customer service representative from Tesla's official Chinese website clarified that, at present, Tesla's assisted driving functions are exclusively compatible with certain models equipped with AI4 hardware (also known as HW4). These models include the Model S, Model X, the 2020-2024 Model Y, and some current Model 3 variants. Notably, the current Model Y and Model Y Long Range are not yet supported. The representative further added that Tesla is diligently preparing the assisted driving software to meet national regulatory standards. This situation implies that, despite overseas HW3 models already starting to receive the FSD V14 Lite update, there is currently no definitive official confirmation regarding whether HW3 models in the Chinese market will receive these relevant upgrades concurrently in the future.
