On May 29, sources revealed that Tesla has officially broken ground on a specialized Optimus humanoid robot factory within its Gigafactory complex in Texas. The facility is projected to achieve an impressive annual production capacity of up to 10 million units, representing a significant milestone in Tesla’s endeavor to industrialize humanoid robots. The factory will feature a second-generation production line, with plans to commence large-scale mass production by the summer of 2027. Once fully operational, it aims to produce approximately 27,000 units per day. Meanwhile, Tesla has recalibrated the production capacity at its Fremont factory in California to facilitate the initial stages of robot manufacturing.
