Within 72 hours of its launch, the Xiaopeng GX made an impressive debut, with 20%–25% of orders originating from brand-new customers. On average, each store recorded 30–35 new orders, while store visits soared by 300%, with GX customers constituting 60%–70% of all visitors. Sales were particularly robust in regions such as Guangdong and Anhui provinces. The customer demographic was predominantly male, aged between 30 and 45. Notably, 90% of the purchases were either additional vehicles or replacements for existing ones, and men also accounted for 90% of the buyers. Families visiting for car shopping were 2–3 years younger than anticipated, prioritizing factors such as appearance, space, and smart features. A significant proportion of these families drove the vehicles themselves for personal use, with most already owning or having extensive experience with new energy vehicles. Regarding powertrain preference, the ratio of battery electric to extended-range models was roughly 5.5:4.5. In terms of configurations, the flagship all-wheel-drive model represented 60% of orders, Ultra SE 30%, and Ultra base model 10%. The most sought-after exterior colors were Polar Black and Fjord Gray, while Linwu Purple was the preferred interior color, with 50% of customers opting for 22-inch wheels. When compared to competitors, for every 10 customers, 2 compared the Xiaopeng GX with the NIO ES8, 2 with the Seres M9, and 2 with the BYD Tang. The Zeekr 8X, Leapmotor L90, and Leapmotor D19 each received one comparison. Post-launch, the proportion of comparisons with the BYD Tang increased, and there was a marked rise in trade-in demand from customers of large-displacement, fuel-powered SUVs and MPVs. Notably, the launch price was approximately RMB 50,000 lower than some consumers had expected, prompting those who did not place orders during the pre-sale phase to do so after the official launch, thereby driving the increase in orders.
