The Vice President of Xpeng Motors has voiced a warm welcome to Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology making its way into China. He pointed out that as both companies embrace a pure vision-based approach, Tesla's foray into the Chinese market will serve as a robust endorsement of Xpeng's technological path. At present, Tesla is stepping up its efforts to introduce FSD in China, with the country being a key part of its global market expansion strategy. Tesla China has also initiated a recruitment drive for positions centered around intelligent driving testing. Some bloggers have suggested that Tesla's HW4.0 hardware is a prerequisite for running the full-fledged version of FSD. Meanwhile, multiple Xpeng models already support VLA 2.0, with the primary differences among them lying in decision-making speed. This allows even Xpeng's more affordable models to offer a high-level intelligent driving experience. Furthermore, Xpeng has unveiled its second-generation VLA physical world large model, with certain models boasting powerful Turing chips. Notably, the four-Turing version models are even capable of conducting supervised Robotaxi operations. The entry of Tesla FSD into China represents a significant boon for Xpeng, holding the potential to reshape the market landscape for pure vision-assisted driving models.
