On May 22, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced that Hyundai Motor America is initiating a recall for certain 2025 to 2026 model year vehicles, including the Santa Cruz, Tucson, Tucson Hybrid, and Tucson plug-in hybrid models, totaling 421,078 units. The recall stems from a defect in the front camera software, which may trigger the forward collision avoidance system to activate prematurely, leading to unexpected braking.
