On May 22, reports emerged indicating that on May 21, the Equipment Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology had issued a directive regarding safety hazard inspections for new energy vehicles. The scope of the inspection encompasses five key areas: product quality safety, operational monitoring safety, after-sales service safety, handling of safety incidents, and self-assessment of the establishment of a new energy vehicle safety system. Specifically, the product quality safety inspection will focus on the safety of power batteries and the overall quality of the vehicles. All enterprises involved are mandated to conclude the inspection process by August 1, 2026.
