The inaugural L4-level Robotaxi, mass-produced and based on XPENG’s flagship GX model, has officially commenced production. This vehicle represents China’s first L4-level autonomous driving Robotaxi to achieve full-stack self-development, front-mounted mass production, and a pure vision-based solution. Equipped with four self-developed Turing AI chips, it boasts a computing power of up to 3000TOPS and operates on XPENG’s second-generation VLA (Vision-Language-Action) large model. XPENG Motors has outlined plans to commence pilot operations in the latter half of 2026, with the ambition of attaining fully autonomous operations—free from on-site safety personnel—by early 2027.
