At the 2026 Beijing International Auto Show, Semidrive Technology, backed by Geely, made its grand debut of the 5nm automotive-grade AI cockpit chip, dubbed ‘Dragon Eagle No.2.’ The company has laid out plans to commence adaptation work in the first quarter of 2027. This cutting-edge chip is tailored to address the comprehensive needs of AI cockpits and integrated cockpit-driving systems. It features a highly adaptable architecture that seamlessly aligns with the progression of OEMs' central computing platforms. Established in 2018, Semidrive Technology is a collaborative venture funded by ECARX and Arm China, specializing in crafting solutions rooted in the ARM architecture.
The ‘Dragon Eagle No.2’ chip is a powerhouse, boasting an AI computing capacity of up to 200 TOPS. It natively accommodates 7B+ multimodal large models and is engineered to eradicate data bottlenecks in multi-screen interactions and AI computing processes. When it comes to safety, the chip incorporates a dedicated vehicle control processing unit and a security island. It also supports CAN-FD and facilitates physical isolation of cockpit-driving operations, ensuring utmost safety and reliability.
