On April 26th, news emerged that Chery Automobile, CATL, Chery Green Energy, and Contemporary Amperex Service Ltd. (CASL) had entered into a strategic cooperation pact in Beijing on the preceding day, April 25th. Under this agreement, Chery Automobile is set to develop vehicle models that seamlessly integrate with battery swap systems and networks. CATL and CASL will shoulder the responsibility for the development, continual improvement, and reliable supply of battery swap technologies. Meanwhile, Chery Green Energy will offer holistic green energy solutions applicable across various scenarios.
Furthermore, the collaborating entities will merge their brand assets and market channels, establish a unified marketing framework, and work in tandem to foster the high-caliber growth of the new energy sector. By April 2026, CATL's Choco battery swap stations will have extended their reach to 99 cities, boasting a total of 1,470 stations. The ambitious goal is to surpass 3,000 stations and encompass nearly 190 cities by the year's end, showcasing a commitment to expanding the infrastructure for battery swap services.
