At the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, Ruan Chong, a former key researcher in multimodal technology at DeepSeek, made his inaugural public appearance in his new role as Chief Scientist of AutonomousX. Zhou Guang, CEO of AutonomousX, announced that significant advancements in the capabilities of the multimodal large model are anticipated by early 2026. He emphasized that the large-model autonomous driving approach has a distinct advantage over its predecessors. Unlike small models, which are unable to ensure comprehensive safety across all scenarios, AutonomousX has fully embraced large models. Ruan Chong elaborated that the company is transitioning from small models to a unified large model architecture built upon a foundational framework, which is further divided into three specific models. Notably, the model iteration cycle has been dramatically reduced from over 100 hours to just slightly more than 10 hours, marking a significant leap in efficiency.
