On April 24, 2026, at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, FAW-Audi made an announcement that the entire range of the brand-new Audi Q5L will be outfitted with Huawei's Advanced Driving System (ADS). This makes it the first luxury fuel-powered SUV globally to incorporate this technology.
The new model is constructed on Audi's Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) designed for luxury fuel vehicles and boasts the E³ 1.2 electronic and electrical architecture. It seamlessly integrates Huawei ADS with the Vehicle Motion Management (VMM) module, achieving a harmonious blend of intelligent decision-making and the renowned German-engineered driving control.
In terms of hardware, the new vehicle is equipped with a perception matrix comprising 33 sensors. These include 2 LiDAR systems, 6 millimeter-wave radars, 13 cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars. All of them are fitted with a constant-temperature heating and cleaning system to guarantee precise perception in intricate environments.
Functionally, it offers support for urban and highway piloting, as well as intelligent parking. It enables autonomous navigation through complex road conditions, automatic following, lane changing, ramp entry/exit, and cross-floor memory parking. Moreover, the entire lineup supports OTA (Over-the-Air) remote upgrades. Continuous enhancements are planned for scenario understanding, navigation through complex road conditions, and human-vehicle interaction capabilities in the future.
