On April 23, LG Display (LGD) unveiled its financial results for the first quarter of 2026. It reported an operating profit of KRW 146.7 billion, marking a significant year-on-year surge of 338.4%. This figure clearly points to a robust resurgence in the company's profitability. Meanwhile, the company's revenue stood at KRW 553.4 billion, showing a 9% decline compared to the same period last year, and it incurred a net loss of KRW 576 billion. The transformation within the OLED business, coupled with focused cost optimization initiatives, has borne exceptional fruit. OLED revenue now makes up 60% of the total revenue, and the average unit price has climbed by 55%. Furthermore, the company disclosed its intention to allocate KRW 1.106 trillion towards OLED new technology infrastructure over the next two years. This investment is aimed at upgrading technologies and bolstering the company's competitive edge in the market.
