Commencing on June 1, the "Rules for Identifying Fatigue Driving Among Motor Vehicle Drivers," issued by the Ministry of Public Security, will be officially enforced. This new regulation stipulates that passenger transport drivers, including those engaged in ride-hailing services and taxi drivers, are not allowed to accumulate more than 8 hours of driving time within a 24-hour period. Specifically, continuous daytime driving is capped at 4 hours, while uninterrupted nighttime driving (from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following day) is limited to 2 hours. Moreover, each break must last no less than 20 minutes. The new rule employs a multi-dimensional assessment framework that considers driving behavior, physiological state, and life trajectory, with the objective of more effectively combating fatigue driving and enhancing road traffic safety.
