On April 14, 2026, Mobileye, Intel's autonomous driving subsidiary, announced that it had engaged Barclays as its financial advisor to find potential buyers for its mobility data platform, Moovit. Among the prospective buyers are ride-hailing behemoths such as Uber, Didi Chuxing, and Lyft. Intel originally acquired Moovit for a hefty sum of US$915 million back in 2020. However, the current valuation for the sale is estimated to be a mere US$300 million to US$400 million. This significant drop in value comes after Mobileye has shifted its strategic focus. The company has decided to cease operating its own autonomous taxi fleet and is now concentrating on delivering technical support to transportation service providers instead.
