Commencing on February 26, Shanghai is set to distribute the inaugural batch of auto consumption vouchers for 2026. This initiative will enable consumers to avail themselves of cash discounts when buying new cars in Yangpu District, with the entire campaign backed by a substantial 10 million yuan in funding. The vouchers come in two categories: a 2,000-yuan discount for vehicles priced between 100,000 and 300,000 yuan, and a 3,000-yuan discount for those exceeding 300,000 yuan. To qualify, consumers are required to purchase vehicles from participating dealerships in Yangpu District, ensure the vehicles meet emission standards, register with Shanghai's traffic management authorities, obtain invoices issued within Yangpu District, and verify that the invoicing date falls after February 26. In recent times, several regions have also unveiled their auto consumption subsidy schemes for 2026.
