On February 26, data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) revealed that in January 2026, Chinese brand passenger vehicle sales totaled 1.329 million units. This represented a month-on-month decline of 32.1% and an 8.9% decrease year-on-year. Chinese brands accounted for 66.9% of the total passenger vehicle sales, although their market share witnessed a year-on-year drop of 1.5 percentage points.
