On February 11, Jim Farley, CEO of Ford Motor, stated during an earnings call that Chinese automakers have changed the game rules of the global automotive industry, posing a threat to traditional automakers. Farley emphasized that Chinese automakers are leading the electric transformation and have altered the pricing power in the automotive sector. Ford's 2025 financial report revealed a $15.9 billion write-down due to the cancellation of electric vehicle projects, resulting in a full-year net loss of $8.18 billion, marking a shift from profit to loss. To address this, Ford plans to leverage low-cost production through its Chinese joint ventures and collaborate with CATL to develop cost-effective electric vehicle models.
