On the evening of February 10, during a live broadcast, Lei Jun treated netizens to a virtual tour of the Xiaomi Auto Technology Exhibition Hall and Customization Service Center. While introducing the new-generation Xiaomi SU7, he highlighted that the car's door handle is already in compliance with the upcoming new national standard. The "Safety Technical Requirements for Automobile Door Handles" issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will officially take effect on January 1, 2027. This standard mandates that every door of vehicles sold in the Chinese market must be equipped with both mechanical inner and outer door handles. Fully concealed door handles will be prohibited, and the standard also lays out specific safety performance requirements.
The core configuration details of the new-generation Xiaomi SU7 have been unveiled, showcasing all-around performance enhancements, including extended driving range. The vehicle offers three battery capacity options and nine CLTC (China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle) range versions, providing range choices spanning from 630 to 902 kilometers. The Xiaomi SU7 is slated for launch in April 2026, with three different configurations available at pre-sale prices of RMB 229,900, RMB 259,900, and RMB 309,900, respectively.
