On February 10, news emerged that the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization disclosed that the Working Group for the Advancement of Intelligent Connected Vehicle Testing and Demonstration in Shanghai had recently issued the Shanghai Intelligent Connected Vehicle Development Report (Annual 2025). According to the report, in 2025, Shanghai is set to persistently broaden the testing and application horizons for intelligent connected vehicles, concurrently fostering the gradual opening up of diverse scenarios. By the conclusion of 2024, the city had already opened up a total of 3,173 roads, stretching across an impressive 5,238.82 kilometers, specifically designated for autonomous driving tests. Throughout the '15th Five-Year Plan' era, Shanghai is poised to embark on a novel phase characterized by 'city-wide integration.' This will entail the establishment of a developmental framework that harmonizes regulations, standards, and road accessibility, thereby facilitating cross-district cooperation. A multi-tiered scenario arrangement will be formed, encompassing a test and demonstration loop encircling the central urban region and adopting a 'city-wide unified strategy.' Furthermore, the scope of autonomous driving accessibility will be incrementally expanded in response to genuine demand.
