On February 6, according to a report from the Ministry of Commerce's official website, the Ministry of Commerce organized a symposium specifically for automobile enterprises on the same day. The primary focus of the meeting was on issues pertaining to automobile circulation and consumption. Attendees included representatives from pertinent associations, research institutions, and various companies within the automotive sector. Vice Minister of Commerce, Sheng Qiuping, was in attendance and actively participated in the discussions.

Sheng Qiuping highlighted that China boasts an ultra-large-scale market, characterized by a lengthy automobile consumption chain and substantial growth potential. He emphasized that with ongoing policy support, there are vast opportunities for expanding automobile consumption throughout the entire supply chain. Looking ahead to 2026, the Ministry of Commerce intends to work closely with relevant government departments to refine policies concerning the trade-in of old vehicles for new ones. This will be achieved through a combination of parallel policy support, reformative innovation, and coordinated efforts that bridge existing and new policy initiatives. Additionally, the Ministry plans to initiate pilot reforms aimed at enhancing automobile circulation and consumption, refine industry management frameworks, and implement a range of strategies to foster both the expansion and quality enhancement of automobile consumption in the market.
