By 2026, the Ministry of Commerce, in concert with various regions and departments nationwide, is set to propel the trade-in initiatives for consumer goods, with a special emphasis on refining policies within the automotive industry. As of February 5th, a total of 335,000 applications for auto trade-in subsidies have been submitted, spurring new car sales amounting to 53.77 billion yuan. In January alone, the average price of new cars traded in surpassed 160,000 yuan. Furthermore, the national volume of scrapped vehicle recoveries soared to 659,000 units, reflecting a significant year-on-year increase of 50.2%.
