On December 31st, news emerged that the national standard proposal titled "Solid-State Batteries for Electric Vehicles - Part 1: Terminology and Classification" has transitioned from the drafting phase to the public consultation stage. According to the draft undergoing public review, batteries are categorized into three distinct types based on the varying mechanisms of internal ion transfer within the battery cells: liquid batteries, hybrid solid-liquid batteries, and solid-state batteries. Notably, the term "semi-solid-state batteries," which was frequently referenced in the industry previously, is absent from this classification. This move is consistent with prior disclosures from the China Automotive Technology and Research Center, which had indicated that the term "semi-solid-state batteries" would be omitted from the terminology and classification standards.
