On December 17, the Dalian Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) system upgrade project successfully passed on-site evaluation, marking it as the nation's inaugural, fully domestically developed VTS system to be officially commissioned. This system amalgamates signals from 19 radar stations across Liaoning Province and the Beihuangcheng radar station in Shandong Province, facilitating integrated cross-regional surveillance. It encompasses advanced features including tiered and zoned alerts, proactive risk identification mechanisms, and has introduced specialized functionalities such as 'commercial-fishing vessel collision prevention alerts,' specifically designed to cater to the unique maritime conditions of Liaoning's coastal areas. As the inaugural large-scale VTS project within the national maritime framework to fully leverage information technology innovations, its implementation is poised to significantly elevate vessel navigation efficiency and maritime regulatory effectiveness in Dalian's waters.
