On December 12, 2025, the State Administration for Market Regulation unveiled the Compliance Guidelines for Price Conduct in the Automotive Industry (Draft for Public Comment). This move was aimed at gathering public input, with the feedback submission deadline set for December 22.
The Guidelines are structured into five chapters and twenty-eight articles. They encompass general stipulations, norms governing price behavior for automotive manufacturers, requirements for price behavior among automotive sales enterprises, internal compliance management frameworks, and supplementary clauses. The Guidelines lay out specific regulations regarding automotive manufacturers' pricing practices, set forth clear criteria for sales entities, offer guidance on establishing internal compliance mechanisms, and cover other pertinent aspects. These provisions hold immense importance in protecting consumer rights and fostering the sound development of the automotive sector.
FAW Group released a statement, affirming its dedication to fully embracing the essence of the Guidelines. The group pledged to enhance its internal price management and compliance systems, with a firm resolve to eradicate any unfair price competition tactics.
Moreover, other automotive firms, including BAIC Group, BYD, XPENG Motors, and Chery Automobile, have also made public statements. They have expressed their unwavering commitment to actively adhere to the Guidelines and drive high-quality growth within the industry.
