During a public demonstration, Norwegian researchers successfully manipulated a helicopter's GPS system within approximately 40 minutes. They achieved this by incrementally amplifying a counterfeit signal, which misled the GPS into inaccurately determining the helicopter's position. The system erroneously indicated that the aircraft, a real rescue helicopter in flight, was heading towards the Norwegian Sea. Concurrently, the satellite navigation trajectory of another small aircraft was also compromised, displaying abrupt and physically impossible turns.
