Omdia: U.S. PC Market Shipments Expected to Decline by 10.7% Year-Over-Year

Omdia research shows that in the second quarter of 2026, U.S. PC (excluding tablets) shipments increased by 1.0% year-over-year, reaching 18.8 million units, following a 7.0% year-over-year decline in the previous quarter. This growth was primarily driven by retailers and channel partners stocking up ahead of storage product price increases, which spurred demand release. The average channel shipment price for PCs in the U.S. surpassed $1,000 for the first time, marking a 12.0% year-over-year increase. However, this growth trend is unlikely to sustain, with Omdia forecasting a 10.7% year-over-year decline in full-year U.S. PC market shipments and an 18.4% drop in the second half of 2026.
