Omdia's latest research indicates that in the second quarter of 2026, US PC shipments (excluding tablets) increased by 1.0% year-on-year, reaching a total of 18.8 million units, compared to a 7.0% year-on-year decline in the first quarter. The market resumed growth this quarter primarily due to retailers and channel partners stocking up in advance ahead of constrained memory supply and price hikes, driving early release of demand. The average channel shipment price for PCs in the US surpassed $1,000 for the first time, marking a 12.0% year-on-year increase. However, Omdia predicts that this growth trend is unsustainable, with full-year shipments expected to decline by 10.7% and an even steeper drop of 18.4% projected for the second half of 2026.
