Today, Xiaomi unveiled that several models within its Mijia refrigerator lineup are set to receive OTA (Over-the-Air) updates. These updates are designed to significantly enhance the refrigerators' intelligent food management capabilities, introduce upcoming and expiry alerts, and optimize the variable temperature zone pre-conditioning functions. Users can now conveniently input food details, such as name, location, and storage duration, either through voice commands or manually via the Mijia App. The system boasts a comprehensive database of over 300 commonly used food items and automatically suggests the ideal freshness periods. Food status is visually represented by different colors, indicating their freshness cycles at a glance.

Moreover, the update introduces multi-channel alerts for upcoming and expiry dates, including pop-up notifications on the refrigerator plugin homepage and push notifications to the phone's status bar, ensuring users never miss an important date. For premium models equipped with variable temperature zones, four new pre-conditioning modes have been added: low-temperature dessert, fermentation, cold brew, and soaking. Each mode comes with its own dedicated temperature control curve, allowing for precise customization.

Users can easily receive and install the update with a single tap through the Mijia App or manually check for firmware updates in the refrigerator's settings menu. The update process takes approximately 3 to 5 minutes, during which the refrigerator's functions will be temporarily suspended. Therefore, a stable network connection is essential to ensure a smooth update experience.

The food management and upcoming/expiry alert features are now accessible on the Mijia Refrigerator Cross 430L MoYuYan model and will be progressively rolled out to other models, including the French Door Flat Embed 400L, Side-by-Side 630L MoYuYan, Side-by-Side 561L, and Pro Preferred Cross 606L. The low-temperature food pre-conditioning feature, on the other hand, is available on the Pro Supreme French Door 508L Full-Domain Ion Purification 4.0, Pro Supreme Cross 508L Full-Domain Ion Purification 4.0, Pro French Door 508L Automatic Ice Maker, and Pro Cross 508L Automatic Ice Maker models, offering users a more versatile and intelligent refrigeration solution.
