According to a report by South Korea's KB Securities, Apple plans to equip the standard iPhone 18, set for release in 2027, with 12GB of RAM to fully support its powerful on-device AI model and related Siri features. This hardware upgrade aims to allow more users to experience improvements in voice performance and dictation accuracy brought by the new generation of Siri, while maintaining the current pricing strategy for the model. The RAM upgrade will significantly enhance multitasking retention rates and AI response speeds, meeting the demands for smooth operation over the next 2-3 years. However, to control costs, the standard iPhone 18 will downgrade to using M12+ substrate for its screen, widening the quality gap with the Pro version's display.
