US startup aircraft manufacturer Electra recently unveiled a next-generation mainline passenger aircraft concept targeted for 2050. This model adopts a hybrid power solution, capable of carrying over a hundred passengers. Through electrification, advanced aerodynamic design, and integrated airframe-powertrain design, it enhances efficiency and reduces emissions. This project is part of NASA's 'Advanced Air Concepts for Environmental Sustainability' (AACES 2050) initiative, aiming to explore feasible pathways for a new generation of eco-friendly passenger aircraft that are compatible with existing airport infrastructure.
