Based on a report from the South Korean media outlet ZDNet Korea, Samsung intends to incorporate a foldable display technology, reminiscent of the purported Apple iPhone Fold, into its upcoming "Wide Fold" phone, which features a vertically expansive foldable screen. The crux of this technology is to thicken the ultra-thin glass (UTG) layer, thereby markedly diminishing the prominence of screen creases and fortifying the device's overall resilience. Presently, the challenge of screen creases persists as a significant drawback of foldable phones. Moreover, Apple's design approach for the iPhone Fold initiative is applying a form of reverse influence on numerous manufacturers, Samsung included, spurring technological progress within the industry.
