On April 27, 2026, reports surfaced indicating that users have provided feedback regarding a bug plaguing several newly released iPhone models. The issue arises when the device's battery is fully depleted, causing the phone to shut down, after which it fails to power back on. The affected models encompass the iPhone 17 series and iPhone Air, among others.
According to user reports, once the battery level drops to zero and the device shuts down, plugging it into a USB-C wired charger immediately only leads to a black screen. There is no low-battery warning displayed, and the device simply won't start. In the majority of cases, the conventional hardware reset methods prove to be futile, and wired charging does not consistently succeed in restoring power to the device.
At present, this problem has not become widespread, and there has been no official explanation from Apple regarding its underlying cause. However, an effective solution has been verified through user testing and by technicians at Apple retail stores. The approach involves charging the device using a MagSafe wireless charger and leaving it untouched for 10 to 15 minutes. After this period, the device typically restarts.
