A technology blogger has disclosed that, following the resolution of patent disputes between BOE and Samsung Display, Lu Taiwen, who leads Samsung’s DX/smartphone division, held a meeting with Chen Yanshun, the chairman of BOE. During this meeting, the two parties explored the potential for Samsung’s flagship S series smartphones to incorporate BOE OLED screens. Previously, BOE had temporarily halted its supply of OLED panels to Samsung due to patent-related issues. In response, Samsung has recently procured a limited quantity of OLED panels from Tianma. Industry experts suggest that there is a significant likelihood of in-depth negotiations between the two companies regarding a comprehensive supply agreement for smartphone OLED panels. Additionally, BOE is reportedly planning to increase its OLED supply for Samsung’s smartphones and watches. It's worth noting that BOE was once a primary supplier of LCD panels for Samsung TVs, although the volume of its supply decreased last year. This year, both companies are actively seeking to deepen their business collaboration. In the third quarter, they engaged in discussions about a plan to purchase over 4 million LCD panels for TVs in the upcoming year.
