On December 19, 2025, the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) formally announced the initiation of a Section 337 investigation targeting specific open-ear headphones (Investigation No.: 337-TA-1470). This move stems from a petition submitted by the U.S.-based Bose Corporation on September 23. In the petition, Bose claimed that the relevant products infringe upon its patents registered in the United States (including patent numbers 11,140,469, 11,659,313, and so on). Bose also requested the ITC to issue a general exclusion order, a limited exclusion order, and a cease-and-desist order. Several Chinese companies have been listed as respondents in this case, including Dongguan YuanYu Electronics Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Zhichuang Yiqie Technology Co., Ltd., among others. Within 45 days of the case being filed, the ITC will establish a deadline for the completion of the investigation. The relief orders will come into force immediately upon issuance and will attain final legal effect after 60 days.
