In the initial three quarters of 2025, the global shipments of wrist-worn devices soared to 150 million units, reflecting a 10% year-on-year surge. Notably, Huawei emerged as the global leader in shipments, while Xiaomi exhibited the most rapid growth rate. Wrist-worn devices, encompassing smartwatches and smart bands, witnessed an uptick in shipments across both the global and Chinese markets. Huawei unveiled its new Watch GT 6 series and intensified its overseas outreach. Xiaomi, on the other hand, fueled its growth through its budget-friendly offerings, robust performance across diverse regions, and strategic channel initiatives. Apple and Samsung also rolled out new products to vie for market share, whereas Imoo retained its dominant position in China's children's smartwatch sector and actively ventured into international markets. According to IDC's forecast, by 2026, shipments in China's wrist-worn device market are projected to hit 79.58 million units, marking a 5.1% year-on-year rise, with all market segments anticipated to sustain growth. Presently, the wrist-worn device market has transitioned into a new era of 'value competition,' with manufacturers vigorously seeking novel avenues for value enhancement. The release of pent-up demand and the penetration into lower-tier markets are poised to offer sustained growth prospects for the market.
