According to informed sources, Apple Inc. is set to reject the Indian government's directive demanding the mandatory pre-installation of the 'Sanchar Saathi' cybersecurity app on iPhones. Apple has conveyed to the Indian authorities that, owing to potential security and privacy concerns, it will not adhere to such mandates in any of the markets where it conducts business. Earlier, the Indian Department of Telecommunications had issued an order requiring Apple, along with other mobile phone manufacturers, to pre-install the app on all new models within a 90-day timeframe. Moreover, users would be unable to disable or uninstall the app, and the department also mandated its deployment on older models through software updates.
