On October 23, 2025, it was reported that Huawei has initiated the rollout of the Huafen Beta version (version number 6.0.0.109 SP3) of HarmonyOS 6 for its WATCH 5 series smartwatches. The system package for this upgrade is approximately 2.49GB in size. This comprehensive update brings improvements across several key areas, such as the system interface, alarms, health management, and sports modes:

• System Interface: The system interface has received a total makeover. Some apps now boast new light and shadow effects, background gradient hues, and smoother operational animations, offering a more visually appealing and intuitive user experience.
• Alarms: Users can now customize vibration patterns for alarms. Moreover, alarms can be easily silenced by simply covering the screen with one's palm, adding a layer of convenience.
• Health Management: A novel multi-dimensional emotional health feature has been introduced. Based on users' emotional and stress levels, it generates 12 distinct emotional expressions. Additionally, it offers adorable pet-themed stress relief breathing exercises to help users unwind.
• Altitude Care: The altitude care feature now includes altitude adaptability risk prediction and proactive reminders, ensuring users are well-informed and prepared for high-altitude environments.
• Sports Modes - Trail Running: The trail running mode now supports altitude curve graphs and segmented navigation, providing runners with more detailed and useful information during their workouts. During exercise, users can access a quick settings interface by swiping right, enabling them to adjust prompt sound volume and exercise settings on the fly.

Furthermore, the official Huawei team account @Smart Wearables has announced that it is recruiting early adopters for the HarmonyOS 6 Huafen Beta version upgrade for the HUAWEI WATCH 5/GT 5 series products. A total of 12,000 participants are being sought for this exciting opportunity.
