Renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has highlighted that the market demand for the iPhone Air has fallen short of projections. Consequently, the supply chain has initiated measures to decrease shipment volumes and scale down production capacity. It is anticipated that by the first quarter of 2026, the majority of suppliers will have slashed their production capacity by more than 80%. Moreover, certain components with extended lead times for delivery may halt production prior to the end of 2025. This development underscores that the Pro series and standard iPhone models have already sufficiently catered to the requirements of the vast majority of high-end consumers. As a result, there remains limited scope for Apple to venture into new market segments or redefine its product positioning. (Previous iterations such as the mini and Plus models, along with the current Air variant, have failed to gain significant market traction.)
