On October 13, 2025, China Telecom received approval from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for the commercial trial of eSIM mobile phones, officially launching the eSIM mobile service for sales in 31 provinces and municipalities across the country. Currently, the service is only available for offline handling. Previously, China Telecom's eSIM service had already supported various terminals such as smartwatches and in-car devices.
