A tech blogger has reported that the cumulative activated sales of the three models within the Xiaomi 17 series have soared to 1.076 million units, signaling a notable transformation in the product lineup's market performance. Traditionally, the standard version of Xiaomi models has been the sales leader. However, this time around, the Xiaomi 17 recorded sales of only 194,000 units, with the Pro series emerging as the primary sales contributor. Specifically, the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max achieved sales of 438,000 units, while the Xiaomi 17 Pro reached 444,000 units. The sales surge of the small-screen variant can be attributed to the limited availability of the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. Officials have confirmed that the large-screen Xiaomi 17 Pro Max enjoys immense popularity among consumers. The back screen design of the Xiaomi 17 Pro has been particularly well-received, boasting a range of functionalities and the introduction of a retro handheld game console protective case. Xiaomi executive Lu Weibing disclosed that the development of the back screen incurred costs of 1 billion yuan, and that competitors attempting to replicate this feature would face substantial financial barriers. Addressing the underwhelming sales of the standard Xiaomi 17 model, Lu Weibing clarified that the absence of a 1TB storage option during the initial sales phase impacted the figures. To rectify this, a 1TB version has been swiftly introduced and will be available starting October 5th, with expectations of a sales boost in the upcoming data.
