Since 2021, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) has established seven new central enterprises, including China Satellite Network Group, China Electric Equipment Group, China Rare Earth Group, China Mineral Resources Group, China Resource Recycling Group, China Yajiang Group, and most recently, China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd. These new enterprises are intended to serve major national strategies, underscoring the pivotal role of central enterprises as the "national team." A clear trend toward specialized integration is emerging, with plans to cultivate more central enterprises specializing in technology and innovation across various sectors such as new energy, new materials, biomedicine, artificial intelligence, and data to bolster their core functions and competitiveness. China Changan Automobile Group was spun off from the automotive business of China South Industries Group Corporation Limited, signaling the official formation of China's three major central enterprise automobile groups. As of now, the total number of central enterprises under SASAC's supervision has reached 100, with reorganization and integration efforts increasingly focusing on targeted policies, marking a shift towards more refined operations.
