In an interview, Howard Lutnik, the United States Secretary of Commerce, emphasized that the pharmaceutical and automotive industries hold pivotal roles in achieving a trade agreement between the US and Europe. He warned that if drugs are not produced within the US, "substantial" tariffs will be imposed. Additionally, Lutnik disclosed that President Trump will unveil a new drug policy within the next two weeks. Furthermore, Lutnik noted that during trade negotiations with the European Union, further discussions are required on topics such as digital service taxes, as well as tariffs on steel and aluminum.
