China has triumphantly unveiled the world's first lunar soil brick-making machine, heralding a groundbreaking advancement in space construction technology. This innovative solution harnesses concentrated solar energy to transform lunar soil into robust, dense "lunar soil bricks." Following an intensive two-year research and development phase, the technology attains temperatures exceeding 1300°C through high-magnification focusing, enabling the production of bricks that rival conventional bricks in density and boast a compressive strength more than triple that of standard bricks—all without the need for additives. These lunar soil bricks hold immense potential for use in lunar infrastructure projects but necessitate integration with complementary construction techniques. The inaugural batch of samples will embark on a journey to the China Space Station aboard the "Tianzhou 8" for rigorous testing, with an anticipated return to Earth by the close of 2025.
