On July 26, 2025, Shanghai witnessed the official establishment of the China Capital Market Society, with Wu Qing, the Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, appointed as its inaugural president. The society, a conglomerate of esteemed academics, senior financial executives, and chairmen of listed companies, aims to serve as the preeminent 'think tank' and 'brain trust' for China's capital market. To further its mission, the society has formed multiple professional committees and will introduce an official academic journal, Capital Market Research, fostering deeper theoretical explorations, academic exchanges, and advisory services for decision-making within the capital market.
